SF -7 next game. Wouldnt call that respect.

Compare NYG going in to this weekend and Seattle going in to next game. Seattle should get much more respect.

The Seahawks have won their last two games by scores of 58-0 and 50-17, a total combined margin of victory of 91 points. That doesn’t happen every year. Or even every half-century.

In fact, NFL information man Randall Liu confirmed today that it’s been more than 70 years since a team has won back to back games by a combined victory margin of more than 91 points. The last team to do it? The 1941 Chicago Bears.

Those Bears, coached by George Halas and quarterbacked by Sid Luckman (pictured) beat the Chicago Cardinals 53-7 at Wrigley Field on October 12, 1941, then welcomed the Lions to the Friendly Confines the next week and beat them 49-0. The Bears finished 10-1 that year, then blew out the Packers in the division championship game and blew out the Giants in the NFL Championship Game.

Whether Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson can follow in the footsteps of Halas and Luckman and turn their regular-season dominance into a postseason championship remains to be seen. But when an NFL team is doing something that hasn’t been done since before Pearl Harbor, they’re doing something special.
