    ESPN's QBR
I've heard of QBR before because of how hard ESPN touts it (despite their refusal to actually release the formula), but I never looked at the top 10 before. These are their top 10 quarterback games starting in 2008.

Visit ESPN for live scores, highlights and sports news. Stream exclusive games on ESPN+ and play fantasy sports.

    #1 Charlie Batch (3 TDs, 2 INTs, 186 yards)
    #2 Carson Palmer
    #3 Michael Vick
    #4 Tony Romo
    #5 Eli Manning
    #6 Palmer again and Roethlisberger
    #8 Jay Cutler
#9 Drew Brees (the only elite QB in the top 10)

    and #10 is....

    JAMARCUS RUSSELL

noticeably absent are three of the top four QBs in recent history:

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning

ESPN actually lost a lot of credibility when they came up with this system. People who actually pay attention to it know that it really means nothing at all. I feel it is a way for ESPN to have something for their statisticians to do all day. Such a joke.

I like how the people in charge at ESPN never stop to think about it.

If that's your top 10, and your #1 QB game of all time is CHARLIE BATCH'S two INT game, then something might be wrong.

Another failed attempt by ESPN to assert itself as some sports authority that trancsends a mere network that reports. Tried to be some pioneer in stats that would revolutionize the way QBs are measured. 12/17 186 3 TD 2 INT is the highest QBR game in 5 seasons is beyond words

Nobody pays attention to it. Nobody is going to adopt it. All it does is create confusion. QBR and "total quarterback rating" = ESPN. Quarterback rating and passer rating = standard rating.

It said he completed 11 of his first 14. One incompletion was on a drop and one came on a spike. They were trying to make it sound better.

The other incompletion in his first 14 attempts came when he threw a pick to Talib.
