NFL: players top all-time at their position CURRENTLY playing in NFL
I ask this every year. Of the active players...which ones could make an argument that they should be in the all-time Starting 26:

    11 Off
    11 Def
    p/k/returner, and Special Teams specialist.

I can think of a few in the discussion.
Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?

Yeah, Brady/Brees/Rodgers in the discussion of top ever at their position. But it's opinion. Not necessarily the top QB ever, think I'd vote Peyton Manning.

No one would ever rank him is starting-caliber best ever, but Frank Gore quietly put together a career placing him at #3 all-time rushing yards. Been around so long, people probably forget how good he was a for a bit, though dinged up a little early in career.

            Gronk
            Brady
            Gotkowski

All in the discussion. Can’t think of anyone else active.

                Rodgers/Brees/Brady
                Aaron Donald
                Justin Tucker
                Julio Jones
Gronk (is he even active though haha)

Return specialist is Cordarrelle Patterson, that's an easy one.

I would never put Frank Gore in there. Even though he's done something amazing, how many times has he been a top5 RB in the league? His stats are because of longevity, which in itself is an accomplishment as a RB. Good for the bank account, but not nearly good enough for a team like this.

Tucker is on my list. Will probably go down as being top all-time in MOST kicking metrics.

Have to admit I didn't think of DeOssie. Very astute, if he's regarded as top all-time at his craft.

Some good ones in this thread. Thanks, boys! Makes u think.

It will be interesting to see how history sees Aaron Donald. For my money, the two Def Tackles on my all-time team are Joe Greene (PIT) and Bob Lilly (DAL).

Donald is an awesome player. Listen to opposing Off Coordinators. You have to game-plan for Donald, otherwise you're destined to fail.
