E*Trade Is Close to Launching Cryptocurrency Trading
E*Trade Financial Corp. is getting ready to let customers trade cryptocurrencies on its platform, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The firm will start by adding Bitcoin and Ethereum, and will consider adding other currencies in the future, said the person, who asked to remain anonymous because the matter is private. A spokesman for E*Trade declined to comment.

Etrade's commission fees are horrible, many better options.

Don't understand why this is news...

Etrade sucks, high fees. Several low cost or no fee providers like Robinhood already provide this. There is a futures market for Bitcoin as well if you're interested in leverage positions.

Only a fool would pay Etrade fees with the options available today.

Only a fool would conclude that a posted link to a story mentioning etrade is a recommendation. Your just threadcrapping.

It's news because it means crypto is getting closer to becoming more mainstream. I'm sure there are investors out there that may become interested in virtual currencies if some of the name brand stock services such as etrade list them.

I understand that everyone loves to shi.t on etrade but I'm not recommending them, I'm just reporting relevant news and mentioning that they believe it may be worthwhile to have various blockchain currencies available to invest and trade in.
