My local has a -105 line, and he has 2 different websites that get their lines from different places. I seldom find a better line on the Greek or 5Dimes that aren't a result of late line movement.
I have be careful giving my local too much action outside of NFL season. More than 2/3 of his client only place action on football. If he has to pay me 3-4 weeks on a row during the summer, he starts hinting that he should shut down during the summer.
I recall listening to a CNBC special about sportsbetting where they interviewed a professional sport bettor in Las Vegas. He said that, even though he lives in Vegas, most of his wagers are with illegal local and not the casinos or online.
I like my local, and he treats everything like a business. There have been a couple of discrepancies, and he immediately fixed them. If there is a bad line posted that I wagered, he will personally call me to let me know. This has happened on baseball a couple of times in both cases the line was off by 15 cents. I usually place MLB wagers based on starting pitchers. One time, I placed a large wager on a team and acidently selected "regardless of starting pitcher". When the pitcher was scratched, my local called me 10 minutes before the game started because he noticed that's not how I usually do things. He saved me $4,500, and cost himself $3,500.
