Both teams desperately want that top 1-2 pick.
Leverage to the home team giving the fans a win as the only other angle?

You guys are putting way too much weight into this tanking concept.
The 3 worst teams will all have a 14% chance to win lottery
The 4th worst team will have a 12.5% chance to win lottery
Suns, Knicks, Cavs, Bulls are pretty muched locked into bottom 4.
This is not a good handicapping angle

We do understand this.
That doesn't erase the fact that the teams are tanking.
But when 2 teams who have clearly had their sights set in Zion Williamson meet against one another, the actual angle is the home team putting up enough effort to reward the fans with a rare victory, while the visiting team goes thru the regular routine.

As a Cav fan, I'm sick and tired of seeing Love fukk me on the court by playing well and possibly ruining the lotto balls.
Yet, when we really needed him to play well (like in the playoffs), he was shit many nights.

This has been the trend in the NBA these days. Teams taking turns on who should win. Usually the home teams are the ones winning of the bottom feeders.

knicks have won 3 out of 4 and the young kids have been stepping up their game. no matter what we think as far as teams tanking they are professionals and dont like to lose.
there has been a lot in the press here in ny how these kids are trying and coach fiz is still pushing them to play hard

I hear you mac.
It's frustrating when your team is going nowhere and starts winning meaningless games to ruin their draft position.
