The day Tyson got dropped.. I remember trying to bet on it but the odds were to great.. I passed but would have taken Tyson. Watched the fight live and was stunned.. Was the greatest upset ever still to date..

Love all the 30 for 30 shows but this one touched a cord.. Check please!!!

He beat a few HOFers though Spinks was not really a heavyweight and Holmes was old. Golota was a very good fighter technically was a no contest because Tyson tested positive for weed.

I forgot Buster Douglas's mother died a few weeks before the fight.. That I'm sure gave Buster extra juice and motivation and yes he was in shape also for the Tyson fight which was a rare thing for him... Stars all aligned for Buster on that night.. Short lived though..

Buster Douglas loved to eat, everyone is fat in that family.. His biggest curse was the bulge... Evander Holyfield whooped that fat asss in the first title defense 7 months later..

Tyson had him dead to rights in 8th. Bell saved Douglas.

All about timing and a little luck

ESPN 30 for 30's are all solid, I think I've seen every one.... Don't think I ever saw one I didn't like.. I'll give ESPN props for promoting and showing the 30 for 30's episodes.. ESPN still has that going for them..

There was a soccer 30 for 30 about a Brit that was a soccer stud but got drunk and basically ruined his career because he couldn't control his drinking problem.. Ladies man though and moved to Venice beach Cali, a city over from where I live today and was a regular at the beach bars.. He met a young chick, married her and then died of liver cancer soon after. That boy was thirsty... Even after a transplant he went right back to the drink... Forgot his name but that was a good 30 for 30 that sticks out for me anyways....

The problem with Tyson is that he was a small heavyweight. He had very little chance against bigger skilled boxers like Holyfield and Lewis. Plus, his era was really weak. Everyone likes knockouts but most of the guys he knocked out were washed up or never good to begin to begin with. He never even fought Riddick Bowe, who I though would have beaten him too.
I always wanted to see a Roy Jones Jr vs Mike Tyson fight. Too bad they could never match up on weights.

Douglas definitely showed the blueprint on how to beat Tyson. Buster first fighter not scared shitless before he got in the ring with him.

Holyfield no different.. Didn't fear Tyson at all.. Broke him with skill, heart, grit and technique.. Evander broke Tyson for good.. Tyson had to bite an ear in the end.. That tells it all..

ON THIS DAY in 1990 — Buster Douglas shocked the sports world with a knockout win over Mike Tyson

FACT: Within 8 fast months, Douglas had a video game, served as a ref in a match between Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage and lost his title to Evander Holyfield

Went to the movies with a few friends and my brother instead of watching the fight. Figured Tyson would kick his ass.

Got home turned on hbo as they announced the shocking upset. Biggest of all time in my opinion.
