In the year that I've been on this forum he was the most solid poster I've seen. Dude would have his ups and downs but he was never down for long. Dude had some of the best insight on sports that I've seen in a long time and people were quick to jump on him when he lost.... I'm praying he didn't go the way of 5D Tony!

No one got banned for being "wrong" or "evil".
Only people who would not stop after posts were deleted got a 24 hour time out.
That thread could have gone crazy with hateful and hurtful stuff if it was left alone.
SBR did not wish to disrespect friends and family by hosting a thread like that at such a sensitive time.
Honestly, the people who are so self obsessed they feel the need to come back and re-post about themselves yet again in such a thread are probably not really worth defending Al.
There were a lot more people who had posts deleted who either responded to the PM warning privately or just said nothing than the losers having a cry about themselves in that thread.
