Makes zero sense. The guy hasn’t been a legitimate nfl quarterback in years let alone a starter. How have the Giants allowed this to go on for so long?

It's okay they can rebuild it for a few years then he will be fine right?

And didn’t their coach get fired because he benched Eli last year? Everyone was all up in their feelings over that one.

The crazy part of that is that Eli’s never really been that good outside of 2 of the most inexplicable 2nd half/playoff runs in the history of sports

obviously they need a QB of the future.. but realistically, no one can throw behind that line so they should probably look at improving both.. I know hindsight is 20/20 but man, Mcadoo wanted to trade up for Mahomes and Jerry Reese really fuked us with that BPA draft tactic.

It does but dude has zero mobility you gotta be able to move atleast somewhat decent if wanna be an nfl qb so basically if he cant throw the ball away once someone comes at him hes fuked, his brother realized it was time to go once he became trash so i dunno why eli is still there

I like Barkley, but the Giants were so dumb not to draft a quarterback.

                          Eli is embarrassing himself.

I have odel on my fantasy team so I was watching closely the routes being run. Eli not only had no time to throw his receivers were not getting any separation I don’t watch many giants games to comment on previous performance. But tonight was not on him. His receivers and o line giving minimum effort all nights.

they got a future hof running back. i like the move because you can address qb next year in draft or fa. wouldn't go to playoffs with any rookie qb and that o line. whatever qb comes in inherits weapons in shepard, odb, and saquon. not to mention the te. gotta work on the line in fa too. draft takes too long.

There is no excuse for this guy to still be playing.

Why has this league catered to his feeling for 15 years??

Yeah, but you can't beat the fukk out of your future HOF RB in the process. They keep playing like this and Barkley will be hurt by week 8 or 9.

If i cant move, have a shit oline, afraid to throw downfield anymore for whatever reason, knowing that ill be fine money wise if i retire yes, ill bow the fuk out instead of waiting for them to replace me cause i look like absolute shit

i hope not. he is a humble great kid and easy to root for. great balance for the drama queen obj. i haven't been paying attention but is teddy b really the only fa qb coming available next year?

Thats what im saying, gotta be able to run away when that line doesnt hold or run it yourself and eli cant do that, his brother was the same way just a better passer and better line but peyton was also smart enough to throw the ball away that dude rarely got sacked, but he rode off into the sunset when he couldnt throw the ball downfield anymore, eli isnt mobile anymore no nfl team has a line thats gonna let him stand around for 5 mins to throw

Eli's cap number is $22 million...if you make that in the NFL, you're starting. You ain't riding the bench making that type of money. Blame Giants mgmt who extended him in 2015 when he was done

Just a difference in philosophy. I take a franchise quarterback over a running back every day of the week. There was no guarantee they would get to draft that high again, although with the way they're playing they might. I guess next year's draft class isn't looking too bad for quarterbacks, so it might work out.

I love all the excuses, but if it was most other QBs (especially of those of different skin color), you'd be destroying him.

Eli is finished but Barkley is also a monster.

Tough call but they probably should of snagged Darnold and traded Eli to Jacksonville with Coughlin

Giants have about 12 guys on their entire 2 deep that really are any good.

Paying Beckham had to happen unless they had a decent trade proposal but it was still a bad move for them. He is an elite wr but they don’t have a qb on roster worth anything. Too many holes on the team to devote that much cap space to a wr. Also, This is a wasted season of what is likely going to be a 3 year deal. The Giants 2h schedule gets much easier but the team needs to admit that it is Eli’s time to be putout to pasture. He isn’t the future and their playoff chances are long gone. At latest, Put Webb or the rookie in after bye.

The OL needs to get tough. They show little heart in run blocking. Barkley is not getting holes to work with often enough.

Macdaddy also wanted to trade up to draft Pat Maholmes. its that Sasquatch Jerry Reese that has ruined this roster. Eli is old, but that O-line is embarrassing.

I know hindsight is 20/20 but man, Mcadoo wanted to trade up for Mahomes and Jerry Reese really fuked us with that BPA draft tactic.
The bad line is overstated. They have a rookie running for triple digits behind that line. There is a few much worse lines. Eli holds the ball too long and the minute he feels any pressure looks down and braces for impact or checks down to nearest person. No threat of going vertical. Eli is terrible, plenty of guys would do great with that line and those playmakers.

There was no guarantee they would get to draft that high again, although with the way they're playing they might. I guess next year's draft class isn't looking too bad for quarterbacks, so it might work out.
I've said qb was the right choice but this kid is special. And the only difference is, I think we can see if healthy this guy is HOF. I don't think you can say that for certain, or even top 5-10 at position for any of the rookie qbs. It's early. The pick wasn't bad. But Eli is and they need to figure that plan out well. There's a few backups and free agents I beleive would give them a better shot

OBJ is a flaming Dbag, who is so less talented than he thinks he is. Yeah, he made a few great catches a few years ago. So what? He's a con artist at this point of his career. If I'm in charge of the team I trade that peroxide-haired puke for future draft picks and totally write off this year.
