racquet in the match also.. the only difference being the force in which Serena did broke it.
Then, to hand Osaka the match basically, at deep into second set, nothing left but to serve for win,
all because she called him a thief ? That is totally ridiculous. In a US Open Final and with her going to tie
for most majors. Profoundly aggressive on his part. He should have let it go. Whoop-de-doo calling him a thief.
Blame is on both Serena and the ump. Her team wanted her to quit and so did I.. they probably had money on her
just like I did.. and we also feel bad for Osaka, who did nothing wrong but her major is now soiled goods, and she

2 minority players, minority umpire, and Serena still claiming victimhood despite her own coach saying he was coaching her (which is illegal at Slams).

Thugrena needs to get off the testosterone induced roid rage and try to be a lady for her later years. She'll never win another slam.

Her coach admitted coaching her. First warning was legit.
3rd warning was after a non-stop barrage of whining. She said the umpire was "a thief", "she'd make sure that he never umpire'd one of her matches again" and then demanded he apologize to her.

Honestly, Serena should have been disqualified from the entire match for trying to disrupt the match and throw off Osaka's rhythm. The only reason Serena threw a tantrum was she knew she was going to lose, so instead of take the loss she tried to distract everyone from it.

So dumb they give penalty for smashing a racket. Smashing the racket is part of the game! Does not harm anyone and is an exciting part of the game to watch.

Dumb that coaching is not allowed in tiny amounts with hand gestures. (I don't think there should be timeouts or anything but I think a coach should be able to make a gesture to their player)

Very little need for chair umpire.

Tennis is so great because it has very few rules, two people playing a game with simple rules and there is really no way to cheat with line judges and the current technology. Adding more rules is dumb.
