Maradona won the world cup singlehandedly. He was great for Napoli as well. He even took Argentina back to the finals with a shit team again in 90. Messi has done NOTHING for the Argentines.

I have no problem saying I know next to nothing about this sport so maybe I’m way off here. That said isn’t it basically impossible for 1 guy to win without help?? Seems like American football in sense it very much a team sport and 1 guy means jack without a strong supporting cast.

I repeat the Argentines in 1986 had some okay players but maradona single-handed effort won the trophy. I have been watching every world cup since 1982. That was the least talented team to win the trophy.

It's hard to win on your own. This argentina team just isn't that good in all reality. They have porous defense and a shit midfield. Terrible goalie as well.

I agree that you need to be a compact unit and have a good defense. That's why argentina almost won last time.
