Trump won an election were only 1/2 of registered voters, voted. He lost the popular vote & was elected by about 24% of the population. He also ran against one of worst candidates in history (beside himself). He's an electoral college luck box.

The GOP has control of the Presidency, Senate, House, Supreme Court, and 70% of State Governments, and 35/50 Governors. I think the Conservative party is in good shape with Trump as the lead in it.
