Absolutely not for a payday loan. That would be a steal.
A payday loan of $15000 or so would have to pay back $320 in fees for the 30 days. Notice that i didnt say interest, because even they dont call it interest. In the fine print, you are paying a CS fee of like $305 for the $320. So paying it off early could ONLY save around $15 in this case, but that would be on day 2

p69 ,
I reread it again... they do not say 'interest' either , they use "Courtesy Fee"
and... one does not have to get the full 800. 100-800 increments of 20 but 10% for whatever amount
loan goes directly & instantly into checking acct

^^ ok cool
bothers me when people throw money away on atm fees/payday loans/etc
atm is the worst, you pay to get your own money when you can just carry it around in your wallet

As long as people say "borrow from a friend or family" no matter the fee or interest you will be told it's way too high. But for a short 1 month loan, 10% IS an absolute steal.

i wish i would have told some family members to go to a payday loan instead
nothing good ever comes from loaning family or friends money.
i would rather lend a total stranger money than a close friend or family member.

I was thinking the same..
my daughter about 2yrs ago did something stupid and borrowed from a Payday Loan place she was embarrassed to ask family
MF'er charged her $62 for 200.00

i bet she paid it back though
she most likely will appreciate the next loan a family member or friend gives her.

that's a good point
maybe if the first loan was from a family member/friend it would be taken for granted and repeated a bunch more often

Of course 10% for one month is extremely high. Ask any bank if they'll give you that kind of interest. They'll laugh you out the door.
Let's make it an even $1000. That's 1100 after 1 month, or $3138 after a year for $2138 interest over a year.

I would pay the 80 before even putting my fam in that position if I needed it. I rather they do same! Obviously If they needed and didn’t have that option I be fine helping out as would they but think just more fair all around to make that a last resort and paying the 80 bucks better than asking them when this option available. That just way I look at it.

I used to loan to a few acquaintances who were slot-tards. They would get their social sec. deposit and be at the casino the next day only to lose their last penny ALL on slots. They proceeded to go to food banks the rest of the month until the next check while borrowing from me.
I would loan 100 for 125 back for 30 days. 200 was 250 back. Hope that helps! They always paid until I moved and I was too far to go collect and they stiffed me on 100.
I figured I made enough on the interest for a while so the 100 is a wash at this point. LOL.

Lent a friend $500 about 6 months ago. Didn't expect to get it back, but also didn't expect her go buy a new car a couple months later before she paid me back.
She gave me $200 back about the time she got the car. Been a few months - haven't seen the rest - or heard a word from her that she acknowledges she still owes me.

Banks better then loan sharks ..
Keeping it real - Rule number 1 never borrow to gamble. if you do you got a gambling problem and are a crappy gambler chasing a dream. It's best to just check yourself into GA rehab and get help before it's to late and Rocky breaks bones.
