Sometimes it is easier to find a good fade than agonize over all the numbers in any given game. A fade is simply where you pick the opposite of what someone else is picking. I don't always fades...but I usually take a look at what these people have to say and usually I am on the opposite anyway.
1. I have a friend....she is 42 mother and she has two sons who are 9 and 11 I think. They love football...can't get enough of it. I make sure to ask her what her sons think about the games this week. More times than not they are off big time.
2. If you go to a university, usually every week in the studnet newspaper(s) on Thursdays or Fridays, there will be a sports section with members of the sports staff who offer their picks on marquee games....perfect fade opportunity here. They always pick the obvious ones and favorites as well.
3. Check out a local paper where local sports writers offer their picks. Usually they struggle just to get a .500 SU record and that's with pickiing overwhelming favorites. Imagine their ATS!!!
4. The office pool provides a good source for fades. Just people who have no idea doing this for "fun." Those type of people are the ideal fades.
5. Alwys go to espn.com and look at "expert picks." Seems like those guys are in unison for all their picks. Remember it's those type of guys who drive the liines the wrong way and get you that extra value. Just imagine, there are actual recreational bettors I am sure that check out what they have to say b/c they believe they know something about the games. Perfect fade opportunities.
6. Talk with people who don't bet but are avid sports fans to see what they think of the games. You'll find they'll say things like "Team X has no chance of winning" "it's going to be a blow out" and so on and so forth....those cue words should alert you and should give you a general idea of the general publics attitude toward the game.
Good Luck
