One of the most violent sports in the world and they're worried about something that is less harmful than alcohol and what the doctor gives you on Monday.
1. It's not less harmful than alcohol
2. The cleveland clinic does not allow doctors to smoke tobacco.
(No, I'm not necessarily against marijuana - I just like facts)

Marijuana can never be good for you, it can only be a pain medication at best.
Alcohol in low doses is proven to be beneficial for your health.

If they implemented this rule in the NBA, maybe the white guys could play once in a while.

Yes, getting suspended for weed in the NFL is a joke, because it shows you're too stupid to follow the rules. You're making millions of dollars. You'll be financially set for life. You can't put off getting high?

that would leave more jobs for those who don't indulge then. not one single documented death resulting from marijuana use. it will all be legal soon. taxed but legal.

Somebody once said..."Playing in the NFL is the equivalent of being in a serious car accident every week."
Do you really care if they smoke on their off days??

No, I don't care. But the owners must because they have a rule against it. Either follow the rule or get the rule changed. But until it's changed, it's in effect and if you want to continue to be employed there, you'll follow the rule. It's not rocket surgery.

Leave painkillers out of this conversation
They're physician prescribed and basically the same as a multivitamin

where in their contract is it written that they have to be role models. it's here, it's enjoyable, it's harmless and it will soon be legal everywhere. colorado got it right.

Not at work. No. What they do in personal life not my concern. Only their job performance. If u can smoke weed and still do the job requirements whats it matter at all?

I doubt that. Its still illegal under fed law. Obama could enforce fed law in colorado or Washington. Trump says he will be the law and order president. Also sportsbetting is legal only in a few states

I would not be surprised at all if somewhere in there is something saying on how they are supposed to portray themselves morally because of the fans namely the kids. It is in there that they cannot do drugs i am sure. So because again they are rolel models, they have to do something to them . And of course it will not say you have to be role models specifically. But people bring their kids all the time to baseball games. It is an image thing if they get caught doing something no matter how little it is they have to do something so the kids do not think it is Ok to do themselves. I agree it is not a big deal. But to a parent with a little kid who idolizes that player it could be.

Nfl is a company with huge media exposure, imagine if every time you went out and partied you had to wear a shirt with a logo of your company, you are representing a brand and that's why they are strict on that policy...I know some of the people enforcing the rules smoke themselves but they are not as exposed as the players...also big pharma and nfl are probably real tight, think about all the meds from sports related injuries, from pro all the way down, tons of meds being sold...
