First off that was 10 people who had knives, so really that isn't even comparable. 1 guy with a gun killing 50 people is a lot different than 10 people killing 29 people. Second of all, I'm guessing there aren't many mass killings with knives. I'd venture this was a lone incident.Comment -
It happened a week and a half ago and we had to shelter in place.
After the 2009 shooting they changed the law to allow guns on base, you just have to register them and no you can't open carry. My point is that even in highly secured areas like a military base, crazy mutherfukkers can shoot and kill people before someone can do something in return. The guy in 2014 went to like 4 different places, even after he encountered an armed officer and still was able to kill more people. More guns is not the answer. We need to first provide better help to the mentally ill then second, we need to be able to monitor people more closely. And I'm one of the first people to say freedom from the government and I'm against the government snooping into our affairs but this shit has gotten out of control. 30 round machine gun?
See this is why democracy is dangerous...we let ppl vote on whether or not to have guns who have no earthly idea what they are talking about. A machine gun is a fully automatic weapon....it's a military weapon capable (in auto mode) of continuous firing as long as the trigger is held and can fire upwards of a 1000 rounds/min...a semi-auto weapon is capable of firing 1 round/trigger pull...this translates to about 45-60 rounds per minute but keep in mind a 30 round magazine would already run out of rounds at 30 and a new magazine would have to be retrieved from wherever the shooter had his magazines at in order to replace the empty mag to reload...at this particular point the shooter would stop firing and is extremely vulnerable to anyone with any gun (be it a semi-auto or revolver) as he's essentially unarmed. Even whilst shooting he is vulnerable to fire from all other directions....with whatever a couple hundred ppl with potentially a couple hundred directions of fire to defend from he is essentially a sitting duck to an armed populace.
However...since pussies are scared of guns and would prefer to be killed rather than be able to defend themselves the crowd is unarmed and he shoots them at will until people with guns finally show up and stop him.Comment -

Why would a shooter be extremely vulnerable in the few seconds it takes to reload? Wouldn't he just hide behind something? Do you really think you stand a better chance with a revolver?
It might actually be worst if people in the crowd are armed. If a crazy ass mofo decides to open fire in a crowded public place, what are you going to do with your gun? You most likely don't even know who's shooting. You going to shoot in the general direction of the gun fire and end up killing a crowd of people yourself? By the time you identify the shooter, he's already killed 50 people. It is very difficult to avoid someone bent on killing people with no regard for their own lives. Metal detectors might have helped but he may have killed security at the door, I don't know. The notion of more people having guns in a crowded party is very scary. Now you have multiple people shooting and no one knows who the real shooter is. If you were standing right next to him when he started shooting, he most likely would have shot you before you had a chance to use your gun.
