As the face of the franchise at the time, Houston was signed to a six-year, $100 million contract in August 2001. He is still owed nearly $40 million through 2007, including $19.125 million this season.
He retired today. Ouch. lol.

JJ one thing to remember, at least houston was a good player at one point, how many 7 ft stiffs get 40 million just for being 7 ft? They average 2 points 3 rb a game and get 40 mill houston was an all star at 1 point!

never thought Houston was all that great, he made that one shot where the ball bounced real high of the rim and in during the playoffs, but that's all I really remember about the guy...

Why would he still get paid when retires? That doesn't make any sense.
In that case any 35+ year old player would sign a 5+ year deal and retire a day after signing it.

IN the NFL you do not play you do not get paid. I love their policies
