Because it's practically impossible for the Yankees to lose on opening day with CC on the mound.

The fact is, they're losing deliberately! There's too much money on them. It'll be so throughout the year!

Guthrie struggled in spring training but he's not THAT bad of a pitcher. Plus, it's not like the Orioles offense is anemic.

It's not over yet because the Yankees offense can still come alive.

the orioles offense, right now, is just as good as the yanks. when arod comes back its another story. but the yanks have 3-4 big holes in their lineup (3b, 2b, ss, and possibly cf)

not quite, the ball wasnt over the wall in 1997, it was today. and he has less range and less arm than any of in the al.

There isn't a team I want to lose more than the Yankees. However, with the Orioles bullpen this game is far from over.

he is a yankees fan, a casual one at that id guess, and probably hasnt seen other teams play other than new york. baltimores offense is top notch. no worse than any other offense in that division, possibly top 4 in the al after texas and boston and new york (when arod returns)

the yanks are a bunch of old names. until they get arod back, their offense is merely above AL average, like the white sox or twins.
I guess their offense is better than LAA and KC though

You really think the Yanks offense is better than the Angels? I think signing Abreu helps them tremendously. Scioscia loves playing hit and run and I think Abreu will fit right in. If Kendrick can stay healthy for a whole year and Morales can have a decent year, then they're not all that bad.

i didnt mean to say their offense is bad, but its certainly not in the top half of the AL. that team wins with a top 3 pen and a top 3 staff, year after year. I would not count on too much from Kendry Morales. I am an Abreau fan, and any team that loses Garrett Anderson gets a lot better instantly. I just dont think that team will win 90 games. They won a shitload of one run games last year, not sure they will do that again.

I understand what you're saying. Morales better be decent because they don't have many other options after him. They did win a lot of close games but I think they did have multiple run leads going into the 9th. K-Rod wasn't the best of closers because I remember him giving up at least 1 run many times while trying to close out games and that contributed to their close games.

I'm not ripping the Yankees. I'm just curious as to why you laid -200 on the road.

T, no hard feelings. Like CM mentioned, there are 161 games left. GL this season.
