Anyone listen to the Cousin Brucie show on satellite oldies? He played Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton which was song of the year in 1959.The album it was on had North to Alaska,Sink the Bismarck and When it's springtime in Alaska on it as well as many other biggies.Horton has been dead for 45 years but the album still sells bigtime. It is probably the most popular album of all time where you could have kids buying it to 100 year olds.Every nationality, every varied group of people, you name it.I even toured a battleship last year at an open house and the navy was playing it on the loudspeaker system.
Can anyone come up with a CD that has more broad based fan appeal than that one? If they ever launch a time capsule into outer space and put music in it,that would be the CD 1st on the list.
