I prayed for SBR at church too this morning. Lent is winding down so the Lectionary was pretty much a one-note symphony on the value of suffering. Maybe God is simply trying to perfect us through all our losing bets and bad beats. We should learn to cheer as hard and as loud when we lose as when we win. God wouldn't allow his children to lose if he didn't have a grander purpose behind it in that culminates in our exaltation.
