Miss. State is due for a loss. They didn't look good against Kentucky. They barely escaped at home against Arkansas. This is going to be a tough environment for them. Plus, I think they can afford a loss and still get in the playoff. If they lose to Bama but beat Ole Miss on the road, they still are more than likely in the final 4. Of course it would depend how they lose next week, whether it's close or a blowout.

If Bama beats Miss St and Miss St wins out, there will be 2 SEC teams in the playoffs barring someone like Missouri winning the SEC

If that were to happen, though, who gets left out? TCU or Oregon? (assuming they both win out)

As I said, early line was -5.5, I doubt it's goes lower at official opening. More likely -6.5/-7.

Not even close. Miss. State has played a crap scchedule. If 'Bama wins, State is OUT!! Oregon, Baylor and TCU are much better than State and everyone knows it, incouding the selection committee. Oregon will kick 'Bama's tail in the semi's at the Rose Bowl.

Their "crap schedule" is better than Baylor & TCU. Their Ooc schedule is hilariously bad and won't have the caliber wins Miss St. will.
It will be-
1. 1 loss or less SEC champ
2. Fsu
3. 1 loss PAC 12 champ
4. 1 loss sec team
1 loss big 12 champ
Ohio state
After that who knows.

Yes I know my aviator. That being said I know my team. Bama would be favored to win over anyone the last few years especially at home. Miss st almost beat them last season but it seemed like a let down away game after LSU. Alabama has been two different teams home and away (mainly QB Sims). This game solely rest on How Kiffin decides to run the offense. If it's a pounding game between then tackles miss st is the play at +7 or 7.5 but if he opens it up and can get Cooper the ball Bama is the play at 6.5. Buy the half point either way

I have the same read for this game as I did the last....take bama ML or in a teaser....do not lay a full TD. (Yes, I know they covered against lsu....but still....waaaaay to uncomfortable for my taste)

head to head? Auburn and Mississippi are out though and there is no way it will come down to a tie breaker between all four
