I was offered Bobby Jenks, Todd Helton, Willy Taveras, and Polanco.
I would be trading Jimmy Rollins, and Chone Figgins.
What do ya think?

Take the offer. I see rollins as only having a mediocre year and you can make up his lost SB easily with taveras. Jenks should be a good closer also.

I was away on my draft day and my only closers are Marmol and Rodney. Will I get any saves this year ryanspeer2001?

Iz, if you don't mind, could you paste your full roster here?
Also the details of you league? (Roto or H2H, how many teams, etc)
Can't give you good advice with limited info

I would say no way on this. Rollins is a top 20 pick. You're getting garbage here in return. A low tier closer whose K rate has tumbled each year, a bench player in Helton, a one trick guy in Taveras, and a mid to low tier 2B in Polanco. If you deal a guy like Rollins for players not much better than those on free agency, I see you coming in on the losing end.

Absolutely agree with this. Terrible trade for you. We can't fully evaluate it without knowing what players you'd have to remove to fit the extra two you're getting, but this is so lopsided it almost doesn't matter. Even if you only gave up Rollins this would probably be a bad deal.

I'm in better shape I have the closer for San Fran and Baltimore. HORRRRRRRRRRIBLE. Was Marmol announced as the Cubs closer or is Gregg still?

Rodney is not Detroit's closer; Brandon Lyon is.
Marmol may or may not win the job from Gregg, but he will almost certainly be closing at some point this season.

Nothing wrong with San Fran's closer... when they win, they usually don't win by much, meaning tons of save ops.
Baltimore... yeah... if Chris Ray is available, you might want to take a flier on him, because I'd be very surprised if Sherrill lasted long if he pitches like he did last year.

I agree with VegasDave, hard to tell without seeing your roster. But just by looking, I wouldn't accept the offer. Helton is pretty much a wash these days, should sit on waiver wire all year with all the offense at the 1B position. Now you basically look at Jenks, Tavares and Polanco. Sure Jenks is top of the line at his position, but so is Rollins. I expect Rollins to return to his 2007 form, helping you significantly in just about every offensive category. Tavares will really only help you in steals, nothing else.
I personally would not accept. You need to think you'll need to drop two guys, and Tavares and Helton may very well be the two. Then its Jenks and Polanco, for Rollins and Figgins. No way dude!!
