    5 teams in sweet 16????????
My girlfriend, just told me she read that the Big East is the first and only conference to ever have 5 in the final 16, I told her I didn't think that was true. Anyone know if this has happened before this year?

if nothing else, I remember when I was very very young the big east had 3 teams in the final 4.... maybe mid 80's? did that year have 5 big East teams?

nope, saw it on ESPN last weekend. 4 in the Elite 8 is def. a big possiblity (UL, UConn, and Pitt are all favorites and Nova, Cuse are only 1-2 point dogs)

        Big East>Every other Conference

Although I could see someone like N.C., Memphis, Kansas or even Duke winning the whole thing.

Its gonna be a great tourney - Get your popcorn ready.

Big East Has a lot of teams in their conference which distorts number Secondly a lot of these teams are not from the East A team like Louisville is not from the East

JJ, get a globe pal. Kentucky is east of the Mississippi. Maybe not east coast but close enough

Powell why not have a conference of 50 teams then?? Conferences should have a distance rquirement Cards do not belong in Big East, it is a joke just like Depaul, Marquette, ect They should have their own conference like the old metro Big East should be teams like Pitt Syracuse St Johns Villanova Rutgers Seton Hall You got the idea

JJ, its only 16 teams. Thats like 4 more teams than the Big 12. I dont see why its such a big deal.

JJ thats no fun, have to keep the Big East like it is (maybe throw out DePaul and South Florida though). 14 teams would be more than reasonable.

thats crazy, why keep Notre Dame and Cincinnati then? Big East will keep Louisville around because how dominant we are in basketball and how the football program will be reborn once Kragthorpe is fired next year

Those are mids west region teams. Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin. That is midwest and grade schooler can tell you that.
