AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!! WTF is going on with the Odds archives ??????
I've been doing my research and a bunch of line information has gone haywire. Away lines and Home lines have become switched around and shuffled.

I have been working my ass off here and it's like the whole system just suddenly hit some huge speedbump and now everything is scrambled! Suddenly the LA Kings are showing as -240 road favorites last night whereas when I recorded the data a few hours ago they were big dogs (as they actually were). Stuff is missing. I have no idea if I can trust any data.

    WTF !?!?!?

Pretty sure he's talking about these pages:

Sports betting and handicapping forum: discuss picks, odds, and predictions for upcoming games and results on latest bets.

Easily the most valuable data you offer on the site, but weird things seem to happen regularly.

          Hello everybody,

The data that was inputted on the site, for both bet365 and Pinnacle was placed incorrectly, and in some cases the other site's line is either missing or reversed, our team of programmers are working to get this fixed as we speak.

          Best regards, Ivan C
          System Operator.

Sorry, I freaked out first on the forum, then gathered my nuts and went and PMed Ivan. Hopefully it will get straightened out. I hate to say it, but I wouldn't trust anything in the archives right now. There is a whole lot of incorrect line history in there. It's like the whole thing just bounced shortly before I started this thread, and the lines all came down in different places.

I don't know if I'm the only guy around here using these archives but just in case I'm not: I would stress that the archives should not be trusted right now. There is a lot of bad line history information. As I was just saying to Ivan, I would rather they erased the archives than leave them as is.

But hopefully the data can be restored to what it was yesterday morning or any time prior to the big hiccup yesterday.

I don't know how widespread the problems are. Spot-checks reveal obvious errors in NHL going back at least to January. I did a few spot checks on 2008 MLB that came up fine. I don't know what can be trusted.

This stuff translates directly to $$$$ for me and anyone in the same boat should definitely not use them until further notice.

I spent hundreds of hours collecting data from these very archives. I agree that they cannot be trusted anymore. I've seen data disappear and reappear differently, home/away teams reversed, the same game being listed again the next day, missing line changes for several hours and various other minor fvck-ups.

It's a shame, cause there is a market for this stuff. If you guys had a reliable way to collect and store the data, you could package it and sell it.

Do you have an alternate source you are using for collecting line histories Matt?

Nah Mud, I don't collect them anymore. I used the SBR archives to backtest and make paper bets before going live, so to speak.

SportsInsights has archives, but only openers and closers and only from one source (Pinny, I believe).

I have also spent hundreds of hours using SBR archives. Until now, I haven't even worried about finding a second source for double checking the line info. And it has been very profitable. I don't know if that's because the info was fundamentally good, or I was just lucky.

I consider this kind of research my future, no less. I have to do it.

But I really should have multiple sources. I'll check out sportsinsights.

If anyone else wants to jump in with ideas for line history sources, please do.

Maybe I need to start a fresh thread.
