Debt Collector Threatens to Have Me Sent to Jail
Got a call this morning from some dumbass, thick accented collector who said he was with the Internet Fraud Division of US National Bank and if I did not immediately send $950, I would be "downloaded" to the local sheriff's office. I don't know what that means, but it sounds painful.

He said If I don't send the money, I had better get an attorney because I would be arrested at work for internet fraud.

Just how stupid do these clowns think people are? Even if I owed the money, I wouldn't send these bozos squat.

I laughed at him and told him to bite me and hung up. He then called back like 10 straight times, but I wouldn't answer the phone.

Tell the collector to call Obama and get the money from him on your behalf.

He didn't say exactly, and I really didn't pursue it because I had no plans to send him anything. It may have something to do with pay day loans I had gotten in the past, but I believe those were all fully repaid.

Just answer the phone and then put it on the table and walk away.

Pizzaboy/ms72001/raiders72002 admitted to bouncing e-checks in a previous post.

                Pay up, stiff.

I've never admitted to any such thing.

                      Yes u did, stiff.

You posted about bouncing e-checks couple weeks ago and now getting calls from collections agency. I guess its all just a big-O coincidence.

                      Yeah rite.

Whats the matter raiders72002, losing that paid gig at EOG has bankrupted u? Maybe start delivering pizzas for two pizzarias.

OOL, if what you say is true about this debt collector (he threatened you, called multiple times, etc) you have a cause of action against him/his company for violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. Under this type of lawsuit you will still owe any debts that are outstanding but you can recover 1k per violation (and this may be indexed). If you live in a large metropolitan area contact a bankruptcy attorney and he will likely handle the case on a contingency basis.

I Googled "US National Bank" and it appears they run this scam on people who have taken out pay day loans in the past and may or may not have paid them back. They probably are not even located in this country.
