    trying to put dominos out of business.

    start off with an easy one: ribs
    get a rack of ribs and rub it with lawry's seasoning and put in oven @ 250 degrees for about 1-2 hours. then put it on the grill until it is crispy on the outside. use a brush to put bbq sauce on the ribs if you want.

    here is a great soup recipe if you can read chinese:

    (3-4人份)
    调味料: 味噌:3汤匙 料酒:1汤匙 糖:1汤匙 日本酱油:1汤匙 淀粉:1/2汤匙 盐:1/4汤匙
    做法:
    1.前一晚备一锅清水(约4碗水),放入洗净的海带和银鱼干,常温下浸泡4小时,也可 放入冰箱冷藏8小时。正式煮汤前取出,捞起鱼干,小火加热至快沸腾时捞出海带,海带小 鱼干高汤就做好了;
    2.萝卜洗净去皮,保留根叶,切约4厘米的厚件,在表面用刀划十字;
    3.瘦肉洗净,跺碎,下料酒、糖、酱油、淀粉腌着待用;
    4.高汤煮沸后放入萝卜和两汤匙味噌(味噌先用两汤匙热水在小碗里拌开,直接往锅里放 味噌会结块),水开后盖盖用小火炖煮30分钟;
    5.放入腌好的肉碎,用汤勺搅匀。待肉熟,把1汤匙味噌放在漏勺里,再将漏勺浸入高汤 ,用筷子搅拌使味噌均匀融进汤中,最后尝味加入少许盐即可。
    功效:
    味噌是用大豆制成,富含营养和食物纤维,可以抑制或降低血液中的胆固醇,抑制体内脂肪 的积聚,帮助缩短有害细菌停留在体内的时间,改善便秘,帮助排毒养颜。此外,常吃味噌 还有预防高血压、糖尿病等功效。

      Dude I love cooking I hope to see some good input in this thread. Personally I just make up most the stuff I cook on the spot and change things all the time.

          Pico, add a few tablespoons of brown sugar to that seasoning salt for your rib rub. I make my own rub with brown sugar, black pepper, dried mustard, paprika, garlic powder and cumin, and make the ribs half-&-half in the oven and on the smoker like yours. Like it better than any rub I've bought over the years.

                pico, sorry I'm just now seeing your post. Texas is best known for brisket and it's really no different than your ribs other than more cooking time. Use a good dry rub on the entire chunk o' cow, place in a big cooking pan or one of those oven cooking bags, bake low and slow (about 225°) for three hours or so, really depends on the size of the brisket obviously. Then transfer to your smoker or grill, again low and slow for another 3+ hours. Get some wood chips like pecan or hickory to add to the fire and smoke the meat well. Slather it really well with BBQ sauce the last hour os so it's on the pit.

                Serve with potato salad, pinto beans and sweet tea, plenty of sliced bread, onions, pickles, jalapeños and more BBQ sauce
