The best part of him winning the bracelet was all the side action he got on that bet with negreanu. They were both playing every small buyin razz o/8 lowball and horse events they could. They had to be a favorite there.

IMO, Dwan is the only one that played the hand great; for Ivey to have played it great, he would have had to do something along the lines of what Jeff was saying; or simply, ultimately figure out Dwan there... call & win. Which made that particular posted hand seem incongruous if trying to illustrate how great Ivey is (Sho says it wasn't to make a point, fine, accepted. But it could be interpreted as coming across as such... especially when using the phrasing "speaking of which")

We can all agree Ivey is an indisputably great player while disagreeing on how "great" he played this hand.

Yeah, a classic one for the ages. Not that analogous to this hand tho, IMHO, for a few reasons.
Bite me DOJ You are absolutely right Ivey played the hand correctly, not exceptionally. Dwan played it exceptionally which explains why he won despite being out of position and literally behind at every point in the hand.

Now the brad booth hand ...

2+2. Several sources from pro poker players. They had an escrow all setup etc

Like to watch him but think he's somewhat overrated. He plays quite a bit of risk poker, put a man in a decision for all his chips way, works for him because of his reputation. He's fun to watch and plays by feel not like some of these mechanical guys who are chasing pot odds which youll rarely get in no limit.

Ivy or any other pro would be lucky to win one time

In real pro sports amateurs don't win and in most cases are not even competitive

Poker and professional play is highly highly misused

Kids in high school with basic math skills can win poker events
                              It's all about the cards

If I move to Vegas and for the next 10 years enter every World Series event possible of course I'm going to win a bracelet eventually

Ivy is a very good poker player, especialy in tournaments, but he is a terrible gambler. He consistantly loses his tail wagering on football. He is also very busy paying off fines like many of his friends. The IRS owns these guys. Get them at a private game and see how things change in a hurry. Once he takes a tough beat, he falls apart.
