    Memphis + conference USA
I've not watched enough memphis nor conference usa, but from studying games last week....I couldn't find much reason at all to be a believer of these teams....

outside of the zaga game, which all memphis backers quote religously... didn't the conf usa top teams get flat out embarrassed by big conferences in league play?

I still contend Memphis might be a 5-8 ranked big east team

Georgetown beat Memphis, but they also beat Uconn.

syracuse also beat em.... and memphis beat two bad big east teams... can't remember which right now

tough to really tell much from comparing a few games here and there.. but overall the trend seemed to be that conference USA was not too good compared to big conference schools...or good small schools

No doubt Conference USA is weak, but it has been for several years ever since Louisville and Cincinnati left, yet Memphis has still managed some deep NCAA runs in spite of that. Last year, they lost arguably their toughest regular season game vs. Tennessee, yet they still should have won the NCAA title.

Also, Memphis has faired pretty well in the tournament over the past few years despite Conference USA not being that good.

memphis is going to be hard to beat in the ncaa. their defense is top notch.

they've played a lot better since switching to evans to be point. they started him at point gaurd instead of shooting guard against cincinnati. (dec 28) all their loses came before that when they were trying to find the right man at point.

he's a freshman though, so that might be a disadvantage in a close game.

they have nowhere near the talent as last year. Evans couldnt hold CDR's jock strap. There is no Dorsey down low and they have nobody close to Rose at the point. Elite 8 team AT BEST

........and nobody to teach them how to play basketball. Evans, Dozier, and Anderson are gone. Not sure about Taggart though.
