I did not have that much pressure on me at that age. I had some cash then and always had the money to pay the book. I think when i lost one of my houses to a bookmaker like 3 years ago on a bet was the most pressure and the 30K bet on the ncaa title game a few years back also was pressure. The pressure is an amazing feeling and feels better than doing crack. The high 1hr before the game is unmatched as you feel part of the action. The crash effect after the bet is hard to take as reality sets in especially if you lose the bet.

Sammy you can't win betting big. Just bet $50-$100 a game, no college kid needs to be betting $1000+. You have no payments to pay. You don't pay for your rent, bills, car, family, etc. You get the same rush betting little then you do big. Much easier to handle losing streaks. So dumb to bet big money on this ****ing shit.
