i was gonna buy it tmrw
so its good right? reviews said great. i rarely play sports games bc they are so ****ign complicated. i just want to pitch, run and catch
i dont want to place my fielders , i dont want to warm up bullpen guys, i just wanna play

can i pick up and play lou?

Oh for sure, you can definitely pick up and play but I suggest playing online because veteran or all-star mode against CPU can be harder. Pitching is awesome in it, hitting is a little tricky but it's okay because games that are too easy suck. It's all about strategy playing online, you really put pressure on a pitcher if you take the first pitch and don't just swing like a 14 year old on every pitch, forces him to throw strikes every now and then so you get your looks at him.

I was 5 outs away from a perfect game but I was really focusing, then lost 1-0 after giving up a solo shot to A-Rod. Everyone plays the Yankees online which gets annoying, but I use the Texas Rangers.

If you get it we'll play sometime...

great game but honestly have you played previous versions? what's so different about the pitching IMO the game has been the same for the last 6 years...year after year i'm looking for something new and once again i was let down. i could rent the show 05 and its basically the same thing, just different rosters and better graphics...although i'm still going to start a season in career mode and hit 90 hrs and 200 rbi's

Yeah, I have it. It's pretty good. Haven't played it much, and don't really know what I'm doing. Only way I can score is hitting HRs. And online games take too long.

Game lag a bit when you play it online, CrazyL? Not sure if it's my connection or not, but I've never had problems with other games online.

FIFA '09 is better.

graphics in-game are 10x better in the show...however if you've played the show in the past then switch up to 2k9 b/c the show is the same as always.

I haven't lagged any, the biggest inconvenience playing online has been the people that quit anytime you take a lead of more than one.

There's also a feature called request friendly quit that won't even log the game as official but someone that knows what they're doing would only accept a 'request concede'. The folks that outright quit are lame, but it counts against them.

I bought the game the day it came out and love it. I'm addicted to the road to the show...but I can't hit anything yet.

Yeah, that's worthy of some bragging. Pretty pedestrian not to score at all using the Sox, think their batting is #3 in the rankings for the game or something like that.

The Rangers are #8 but it's all about who you're comfortable with. I dislike how everyone either uses the Yankees or Sox but it's sort of like all the kids using the Patriots or Colts in Madden.

I don't quite remember what my online name is but if you ever want a game I'll add you, or just post if it's after six PM and you're bored. Same offer applies to anyone.

Sometimes I wish I would prefer PS3. Well one time and that's when this game comes out. I hear it has been better than 2K the last couple of years.

i have not played my 360 in so long, i use it for dvds only

ps3 i use for blurays and games. i like it more

It is also a better piece of hardware and better investment. The failure rate on PS3's is under 1% while Xbox 360 has that RRoD that has been reported as high as 15% of all systems. There's a class action lawsuit filed against Microsoft because of it.

my 360 has failed 2x and doesnt play blurays. the fact ps3 is a bluray player is enough in itself, i think!

I rented MLB 09 "The Show" the other day... I'm definitely buying it. Stay away from the 2K game, it is crap this year. MLB the show is the best ball video game I've played.

YES... I used to love the MVP games. They were by far the best baseball game before the show. Its actually very simular in gameplay but the graphics are just a million times better and smoother gameplay. If you liked MVP you will LOVE The Show
