    Most Painful Sports Bet Loss?
my worst was in 2006 did a $275 6 teamer cross sport parlay to win $60k. Hit the first 5 somehow and it came down to Texas vs. Colorado in the Big 12 CFB championship had Colorado +29.5 and they lost 70-3 .

Alright Mr. Gold, let me rephrase, what's the bet where you almost won a lot of money but lost?

Every loss hurts but that most painful was a Phils @ Giants game I made a large bet on (about half my roll). I had the Giants w/ Lincecum pitching and they had a lead going into the eigth as I remember. Bases get loaded and Wilson comes in for a 4 or 5 out save. Werth hits a bases clearing double and the Phils take the lead. I thought all was lost and then the Giants tie it up and head into extra innings. I prayed for a victory but it was not meant to be and the Phils won the game. The positive was that I learned a valuable lesson about making bets that are to big for your bankroll.

In January 1993, I had a dime on the Houston Oilers over the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. The Oilers had a comfortable lead 35 - 3 in the 3rd quarter and yet, managed to lose in OT by a FG 41 - 38. Damn near 20 years ago and it's still in my mind like it happened last week. There are others but this is the one I will always remember the most. I still get pissed every time I think about it.
