Forum dead, figured I'd start a thread that actually might have some intellectual debate...

I'll say Frank Thomas is a nod ahead of him for being underrated. One of 9 players all time to hit .300 and 500 long balls and one of 6 to hit those 500 dingers and been walked 1600 times. That strike shortened season he was on pace, along with Bagwell, for an all-time great season.
Need to consider Bagwell and Mel Ott on that list as well although Ott played in a different period, you just don't hear the guy mentioned, at all.

second best player ever and no one rates him that way that i've seen (lebron doesnt qualify yet)...youll see him top 5 or top 10 but he's hands down the second best ever
people remember the old man and forget how fukkin amazing he was....example: wasnt a great defender at the end of his career but was bill russell great early in his career
for christs sake the gueye is 36th all time in assists

Tim Hudson or Tim Duncan. Hudson is 201-107 in his career and is only a 3x all star

Only difference is biggio should and better damn well get in on first ballet. Bagwell I thought should have but didn't. Always said that if either played for a team like the Yankees/red sox/dodgers ect. They'd be on a short list for best players of this generation and a longer but still short list of best all time

I have Paul Konerko on my underrated list at #8 - right between Jim Thome and Demi Lovato.

Best player on one of the best lineups ever... Never implicated as a juicer... (as far as I know)
1990: .325AVG .439OBP 28HR's 65SB's 119Run's
Sure he had a bunch of juicers behind him, but is still the only guy I have ever seen that can take over a game by himself. Walk him in his prime and he was on second by the second pitch... On third if the next guy seen 5-6 pitches in most cases...
Top 10 player of all time no question...

I once rolled a baseball to Big Frank from 20 feet away. He fell on his face reaching to catch the ball in front of him. Rolled around on the ground for 20 seconds. Finally got the dead ball in his hand and proceeded to throw it into the upper deck above the 1st base dugout.

I've dropped some great acid and seen the same hallucination.
Glad to see we're riding the same wave.

Jordan couldn't win without Pippen. Some regard him as just a great defender, guy is a top 50 player of all time and never gets the credit bc MJ
and so many hockey players but half this forum wont even know who they are

Agreed, but Biggio already didn't get in on his first ballot, and to my knowledge he was never in the ballet.
In response to the Bernie mention...no Yankee has ever been underrated.
