#1157Of course you and CarolinaCapper are making $$$, Mr. Fitguy67! Every time you get tempted to steam or chase, you have Bullwinkle back of you, and he goes, "Gee, Mr. Fitguy, I hate to see you steam like this. Those sure sound like good sides, but maybe you should just hold off on that six piece get-even parlay, Portland to Anaheim to Edmonton to UCLA Bruins (Women's Basketball) to Djovovic, if MacEnroe over Connors at the Cadillac Senior Classic...."
Big Deal, Mr. Braggart: If I had Bullwinkle coaching me on bet-size I could win too.

#1167Well boys, that was a great two day hiatus. Golf was awesome and we had one heck of a night out too!
Everything will be as normal tomorrow and we will start putting some winning days together! It will be a nice change to watch a game tonight with nothing riding on it!!

#1170D2D nice to see ya back! I don't tail or anything but have payed attention to your picks and always take them into account when picking my own. Not a hockey guy personally and you lay more bets in a day than I would. However you are good and much respect I hope your hiatus was nice. Sometimes it's always good to take a day or two off and catch ur breather after a bad storm! Good winnin to ya moving forwardComment -

#1172Alrighty friends.....I know we are laying a load of juice in the Chicago Blackhawks game and series, but imo there is still a lot of value, particularly in the series. I do not see the Blackhawks losing here more than 10-15% of the time.....Minny hasn't looked good down the stretch and Chicago is not the type of team that will come in tight. They have been waiting to get the playoffs underway for months and they will come out firing.

#1173Seems the ATP match was already underway when you posted or close to it.O well, got everything else in but the MLB. Looking forward to the games tonight. Thanks.
EDIT. ATP is over. Looks like a loss of .5 units ($50). So guess its not so bad it was in progress before I could wager on it.Last edited by bald_guy; 04-30-13, 01:33 PM.Comment -

#1177Tough start to the day as I had Elias over Zeballos (+2 games). Not only did he win, but he just did it WAY too fast.
I will look at the bright side of things in this case....again, I picked a pretty big dog (113th in the world) to come out on top....I really didn't think he would do it that quickly and I should have put some $$$ on the ML as well (+140).
Oh well....good luck tonight boys!!

#1178Now, again a lot of juice but the Pens do not lose this series.....they just won't.
Also, the Caps are great value here. They are playing better, they are playing motivated, they have the better top end players AND they have home advantage. I wouldn't bet the farm here, BUT with home advantage I just do not see how they are the slight underdog here.

#1182good to have you back, and posting with the ole' swagger...
and good to see u stickin' with the MLB...nothing rewards "ye old grind" (AND flat betting...cuz on a baseball slate, Murphy's Law--probably more than in any other sport [remember, top teams seldom win even near 70%, very low cf. others]--VERY OFTEN takes control over which plays win and which ones lose...flat betting baseball gives Murphy nothing to work with in the this aspect of the "heartbreak" department) more than baseball
speaking of sport-selection...D2D, i gotta tell ya'...i generally avoid tennis like the plague...you are the only guy whose picks I'll follow on this sport with any sense of having a fighting chance...none of that parlaying a bunch of huge Sports-Illustrated faves from you...all good, blue-collar HI-VALUE straight-up wagers
all the enthusiasm-generated effort you pour into every post is highly-appreciated by tons of posters and lurkers alike!Last edited by fitguy67; 04-30-13, 02:31 PM.Comment -

#1183New to the thread, was wondering if you ever bet regulation time only for the NHL plays? Much better odds, but obviously hurts if it goes to OT.Comment -

As for regulation time picks, those are great for the regular season, BUT you will not see them in the playoffs unless something crazy happens. I will also be almost completely off of totals until at least a couple of games deep.....Comment -

#1187re: the "-0.5, regulation" bets in hockey...
I've written a fair bit in El Nino's thread about the relative advantages/disadvantages of using the "-1, full-time" (aka. the "-1 puckline") as another way to bak a team that's too chalky on the ML...it's not a popular way to go...but I'm sold on it, for reasons detailed over thereLast edited by fitguy67; 04-30-13, 03:08 PM.Comment -

#1190I have thought about it.....and am not liking either of these. It may sound crazy, but while I am sure the Pens and Hawks will advance, a lot of times the good teams have to make a heroic effort to get out of the first round. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Isles or the Wild up 2-1 after three games in their respective series'.Comment
