Would very much like to hear an official explanation/policy about this stuff.

He said
"Thanks. We don’t do proactive compliance. We only ask for SSN/ID if they cross $10,000.01 cumulatively across the Casino floor. We have a gaming requirement to obtain such information at those thresholds. It isn’t a tax thing it is a gaming requirement. There could have been a mistake made but maybe he had table/slot play. If they had an issue please re-iterate to reach out to me via Twitter."
