BTW, I love how hypocritical the evil party is on this. They're always telling us that we need to be more like Denmark or Sweden, who have VAT taxes, which are very similar to a sales tax, and when the GOP takes them up on it, they're apoplectic.

If the poor in America had the same social programs that they have in Denmark or Sweden, you might have a point, but this is disingenuous BS. A consumption tax is just the latest wealth transfer to the rich scheme, typical Republican playbook, tax cuts for billionaires, tax hikes for the rest of us.
