This is going to be a massive problem in a few years.
Yes, and thousands of pregnant women used to smoke 2 packs of Red Marlboros a day. It was 'normal'. Their neighbors, and the Government approved of it. 50 years later, smoking is 'frowned upon' and brings in 100 bln a year for Uncle Sam.

Today, Us/Canada are about 49 years away from legal/taxed betting cards being available 24/7 at about 10 million joints in every village that has a fuel station or a KFC. Same as with cigarette/alcohol availability today.

It's the exact same thing. It slowly kills you, just like many other things in life kill you. It's up to you to enjoy some aspects of gambling, smoking, drinking alcohol (as well as doing illegal drugs etc) but take it for what it is and don't let it control you.

You are being fed a new bad habit, and you have to control it. This is your government spamming you, asking you to spend rather than save your money offshore or under your matress. You don't smoke? Drink! You don't drink or smoke? Try day trading! Try online poker! Try scratch cards! State lottery! etc etc etc

A fool and his money is soon parted.

Whether you are a fool or not, is up to you. If you think gambling commercials will 'ruin lives' - think again. Compulsive people will pick up any new habit, gambling or otherwise, and end up ruining their lives anyway. Smart people will try it, stick with it if they are having harmless fun but realize it is becoming an issue an drop it.
