We had to put our precious 8 year old pug to sleep 2 weeks ago because at some point she contracted Lyme disease. Within 24 hours she went from perfectly fine to having a fever that led to her going into seizures and having convulsions which apparently ended up with her having neurological damage. Our vet(different doctor) had never informed us of a vaccine for the Lyme disease, even after we had taken her to that vet for having found a tick on her. It was very difficult losing her because she was like our child. It was almost like she got hit by a car because it was so sudden. It really sucked when the doctor told us how healthy all of her organs were and how her blood count was perfect and that she shouldn't be in the state that she was.

To help cope with the pain of unexpectedly losing our dog, we picked up this little 4 pound ball of fur and energy last Friday. She turned 9 weeks old today. Her name is Roxxi.

Cherish every minute you have with your dog or cat, because you never know when that fateful day will come. We're all on count-down timers, but theirs is much much shorter.
