    Banks will never ask about $3k checks. Cash deposits over $10k raise flags not checks. Also keep in mind, the banks arent the ones worried about this, it's the government that makes them abide to the cash rules. Banks would never sway you from making deposits because that means more money for them in DC fees etc.

    Banks make money on your checking account through the fees it charges merchants every time you make a check card transaction. In a given month , the average consumer makes about 20 to 30 charges a month. You multiply 5% -8% transaction fees it charges merchants and you get the picture.

    Trust me, banks don't want to cause any difficulties in deposits for it's customers, it will ruin their business in the long run. The more money you have in your account. the more money it makes.
