Guys like you are funny, you think you have the answers and everybody else is stupid. If you truly knew a little about American political science you would know that the progressives always led the way to improvement and without their struggles and political victories we would never have enjoyed many of the benefits that are apparent. Things are far from perfect, never will be perfect but much better than a stagnant, static all conservative society would have produced.
