By rule if a ball is foul in the batter box and has not touched a player or gone outside the lines of the box AND THE BALL IS MOVING, the catcher can wait for the ball to enter the playing field and make a play on it. Thats exactly what the dodgers catcher Ellis did, he waited for it to go fair. Sort of like the opposite of if a ball is fair and then goes foul. 100% correct on this.
