Only single straight bets (don't make parlays), look for odds/spreads that you think are soft and increase your bets when you think your edge is higher. Bet small amounts of your bankroll and don't chase (Martingale).

Parlays are rarely useful i.e. when you find a line that a book has not adjusted and is WAY off, then you parlay it with one of your strongest picks. or correlated parlays-google that- if your book takes them but you're better off not playing parlays at all.

If you lose more than 2 games in a row bet the next one huge. This is known as the "due theory" and is very successful. Also if it looks too easy then you are usually looking at free money, I generally go all-in in this situation, especially if I am on a hot streak.

THey usually are scalping or some sort of a pro who have lots of outs getting great numbers
