First time poster and newbie question!
    Hello,

I have been lurking the forums for quite some time, a lot of good information on here for me to get started..

I have never bet before, my question is for a beginner what book is the best option to start with? I see on the reviews for this site, pinnacle has the lowest vig lines but also the sharpest book. Would it be better to go with pinnacle or the other books (5Dimes, legends etc) and utilize their bonus? What are the merits of one vs another for a complete beginner.

    Thanks!

Multiple so that you can line-shop, I'm from the US so I cannot say anything about pinnacle, but bodog is good if you like dogs, and I currently make the majority of my plays at DSI. Both of those pay up, and really any A or A+ book is going to be fine.

      Hi xxex,

      Great question and thank you.

TTo827 has the right idea with having multiple sportsbooks so that you can always have the best line (SBR Live Odds come in handy for this). Some prefer a one-stop shop. You can't go wrong with any of the books you mentioned, but it also depends on your wager size, what you want to bet, or even which cashier options you prefer. The SBR reviews try to assemble most of the pertinent info you'd need to know to aid in making that decision.

      Good luck!

xexx, I, as well as the majority of the users on this forum, would suggest 5dimes, especially if you are in the United States.

Assuming you're not US, pinnacle is always worth having, always line shop though as mentioned. Many euro books might be a good option for you at this point too, they will limit/boot big winners or if you pound their weak line, but you should be fine for starters if you're not too big of a player. They also generally have good bonuses. If you keep comparing lines you'll soon get a grip on what books suit you the best, just make sure they're pretty reputable.

xxx well said. pinnacle has the lowest vig but their lines/odds are terrible. I mean when you can get x team at -13.5 -110, it's -15 and -110 at pinnacle, lol. and what if you pick other side? cos other side is +15 at pinnacle, correct? if you pick other side, you lose. pinnacle lines are sharp as hell man. better stick with square books such as webwager, sbglgobal, legendz sportbet etc
