how many people here really bet much less watch this event anyways ?

i've been trying to really cap this event, and i just can not get into this so called sport. If you ask me they should call it the moonshine 500

after i really tried to cap this race, i came to this conclusion. i think they made up this sport, just to give those ex-moonshine runners a legit source of in come.

Other than watching the neighborhood kids or soccer moms racing to their botox appointments, I don't see much auto racing. But I will watch this one.

I watch it, and try to catch all the races. May even get back the the Vegas race this year.

Will I bet on it, probably not. Havent yet, and dont see me laying my money on a car that can blow a engine, tear a tire, have some crazed driver run him off the track.....

Too much can happen in motorsports.

I usually just put 10 bucks on 2 of the longer shots. Must be some redneck in me or something

I am a freakin sports junkie. If I am watching tv it is sports and only sports. Well I watch The Shield on tuesdays but thats about it.

Sports Junkie/action junkie. Its chaotic as hell here in Daytona this weekend. If you go to any local bar every Tom,Dick and Harry bet on the 500. This year I've seen more and more pools for the 500 than any past year. I believe that betting Nascar is growing although at a slow pace. I've got some comp'ed Busch tix for today, so I'll go and drink some beer and see if anybody in my section wants to bet on that race as well. I've got to get my beer now as my 7-11 actually ran out of beer yesterday from all these race fans. APPLE

It'll be around 78 to 80 degrees today for the Busch race and lookin at high 60's to low 70's for the 500. There is a slight chance of afternoon showers tomorrow as a weak front moves through. DEI,Hendrick and Rousch guys were out on the town last night after the truck race. Chatted breifly with some DEI guys at Hooters acrros the street from the track. Nice guys will a lot of confidence in their cars this weekend. I'll make small plays on J Gordon, Kennseth and Dale Jr. I got to get to the track soon, so I'll be back on tonight. APPLE

Regular Arctic blast for FLA, huh?

I like Harvick or Burton this time; Kenseth isn't a bad choice either.

Dont waste the money on the pole sitter Willie. They dont win often when starting from the pole in the 500.

Tony Stewart won the Busch race today, so Im not sure if that will factor into your capping guys. Looked like Junior had a good run today to the final laps.
