I might play Hingis +1028 for a half unit.

The women's singles is a real crapshoot....no real clear favorites like on the men's side. Sharapova is not 100% percent and lost in straight sets last week to Jamea Jackson. Davenport, last year's finalist, has withdrawn. Venus has not played on grass since she won last year. If I had to take anybody, then I would have to go with Justine.

I would lean toward Mauresemo. She was upset in the French after winning in Australia. I think she's the top seed, but won't be the favorite.

I think these 3 present the best value out of that list, but I don't like playing futures:

            812 A. Ivanovic +9540
            813 D. Safina +8041
            809 S. Kuznetsova +1727

Brad Gilbert is picking Justine. I'm hoping he's right this time. The moneyline on her has really moved while the moneyline on Sharapova has pretty much stayed the same.

Gilbert is rarely right. LOL. A great fade.

Nice call "Seattle Slew". I hope you won some money on your girl. I had a little money on Amelie. I'm kicking myself for not putting more money on her. Amelie deserved to win but Justine did not play her best tennis.

Thanks. I did have Amelie from the start to win, and also am kicking myself for not playing more on her.

With Davenport and Serena Williams out, and Venus Williams not the same player anymore, I figured Amelie would cruise into the semifinals and really only have to beat Sharapova and either Henin-Hardenne or Clisters. The women's game is suffering a little right now because there is not much depth with many players hurt and or close to retiring.

I also had her +210 in the Australian Open finals, but for whatever reason I didn't even look at the lines in the French Open, which was just as well since she was upset early.

I hadn't seen much of Henin-Hardenne, but she is better than I thought. I knew she was good, of course, but her small frame hurts her in these 3-set matches. But can she ever hit the ball well when fresh. I don't think she lost the match, just got a little outplayed at key points.
