Question(s) Pertaining to the Final Cut
As I am not an avid golfer, I have a couple of questions as they relate to making the final cut for the Masters. First of all, when will the list of golfers become available which includes those who made the final cut for the Masters or is there a list?
What score do you need after 36 holes to make the cut or how do you qualify for the final cut?
Lastly are the rules for making the cut the same for all four of the major golf tournaments?
Appreciate any feedback at all on this subject.
    Thanks.

Mastershas a different 2 round cut than other PGA tournaments, which mostly cut to top 70 players + ties. For the Master, the cut is the lowest scoring 44 players + ties (i.e. players tied for the "worst" of the lowest scores) after 2 days. In addition, special for the Masters, all players who are within 10 shots of the leader after day 2 make the cut. So in a bunched field, it's still possible to have a lot more than 44 players. This years Masters has 49 players who made the cut, where the worst score to make it is +1 (7 players tied at +1). If Rory McIlroy, theleader, was -8 instead of -10, then the guys who finished +2 would have made the cut as well, since they would be 10 shots behind the leader, and there would have been 58 guys to make the cut.

      Quiz on this tomorrow.

        Scully -

If you go to masters.org and clink "leaderboard" that will tell you who did/didn't. Also, if you know what the player's score was you can tell that way. Anyone at 1 over par or better made it, everyone else missed the cut.

It goes by 2 things. Its either your in top 44 place, or your 10 shots from leader.

since leader is at -10. It would have been at even par. But they didn't hit Top 44 golfers,, so 44th place was at +1.

Nice answers, i am no golf fan too but i was glad his question has been answered. Golf seems to be an entertaining sport, but i guess its hard to play the game and to shoot the ball.
