Also denied the Italian players the opportunity to tell their grandkids they played against New Zealand at the World Cup.

Surely they should have had contingency plans in place. Not as if they weren't fully aware of the potential for this kind of weather when awarding the tournament to Japan in the first place.

It seems Scotland vs Japan will go ahead after all.

Also, I was wrong about a losing bonus point being enough for Japan to top the pool. Any win for Scotland will see Ireland finish top.

UPDATE:

So it turns out the issue is with the odds comparison website I was using to view the odds. They're currently (still!) displaying incorrect/out-of-date odds on several different lines. Needless to say, I won't be using them again.

Fortunately for me the price was @1.44 when I placed the bet on the 12th. As soon as Japan beat Scotland and ensured Ireland would face NZ, the odds tumbled.

My bad if I got anyone's hopes up that they could still get @1.44 after that.
