#3 Backstreet Sweetie(7/1 ML)- horrible drive last week as the 3/5 fave. Never even made a move from dead last until the final turn and closed a ton. Even halfway down the stretch he still had a chance but was too far inside with no clear room. The cons- post 7 and who knows if he will try again. I am still playing though.

Meadowlands race 10
#5 Sing me to Sleep(5/1 ML) Has looked pretty bad lately I will admit. Coming off a break but keeps Pierce. This time he may get some cover and if even at 80% has a legit chance to sweep the field. Retains great driver in Pierce and drops in class. The cons- off a break so not clue if he will try and just rail ride. Poor form but has the backclass to improve and this is an ideal spot.

ok now I feel really stupid lol. I got the 1st 2 legs of the pic3 at mohawk(races 2 and 3). I only took 1 horse in race 4- backstreet sweetie who I already had money on to begin with. Since I prebet I cannot hedge so I am stuck with 1 horse and I am going against an entry that is 7/5. sigh.

Makes me wonder about last week when he was 3/5 and sat dead last until the turn. He drove to lose that one. Maybe he was saving himself for today's stakes race or maybe they wanted more odds this week because he was hit pretty good from 7/1 to 3/1 and came on 9/5 early although that was probably me also doing some damage lol.

Purse money and the fact 2 year olds are developing and can't be push hard every week like older race horses. I'm sure last week was a prep. Tonight there was plenty in the tank. I played harness for years and saw this type of thing happen many times. A buddy of mine used to call it "The think stink handicapping angle".

Figures. I was playing some video games so missed the race. Oh well at least some money was made and a 1st and 2nd without picking dead faves is not too bad really. Last season sing me to sleep got something like 3rd from way way back at 32/1 and at the end of this season he screws me in the hiney once again.
