05/30/115 INQUIRY AND DISQUALIFICATION EIGHTH RACE (6 furlongs-cushion)
Following the running of the race the inquiry sign was posted to review an incident near mid-stretch. Involved were #1 Amazombie (1st M. Smith), #3 M One Rifle (3rd C. Sutherland) and #4 Camp Victory (2nd J. Talamo). After a long review and conversation with the Patrol Judge and all jockeys involved it was a unanimous decision to disqualify # 1 from first to third behind # 3. It was the Stewards’ opinion that as the three horse spread straightened away for the finish, there was an opening between #7 Cost of Freedom and #3. When the jockey of #1 sent his mount for this spot the opening closed before he could gain a position between the two horses. This shift caused #1 and #4 to bump sending #3 into #4. This chain reaction cost #3 and #4 the opportunity of a better placing.
