Eighttofasttocatch entered in the 10th and 11th tomorrow at Pimlico?
Hoping some of you more knowledgeable guys can shed some light on this.

In the tenth race, the three horse is Eighttofasttocatch. In the eleventh race, the one horse is the same, Eighttofasttocatch. My guess is that if the 11th gets moved off the turf, he'll run in the tenth, and if not, he'll scratch the 10th and run in the 11th, but I've never seen this before. Thoughts?

    From the Paulick Report:

Eighttofasttocatch is cross-entered in the Schaefer, and will run in the Dixie should it come off the turf.

Smart move by the connections. Take your pick if the Dixie becomes a dirt race.
Timmy is thinking outside the box. Damn!

Fairly common maneuver to cross enter. The Dixie is $200k G2 while the Schaefer is a $100k G3. While this horse figures to have a shot in the Schaefer, he would have the turf entrants dominated in an off track if they went to the main track. With the weather expected to be fine, she'll likely scratch the Dixie in the morning.

Baltimore Belle is cross entered in an early softer spot and the Gallorette. She has a good turf record, so it's a little tougher to get a read on where she ends up.

Cross entering is a normal thing in horse racing as connections look for easier spots especially if their worth a stakes victory

Grand Rapport is in the same race, but likely will run Sunday in the Three Coins Up at Belmont Park
