I felt good about Saturday’s racing card at Yonkers Raceway, but only managed to pick 3 out of 11 races and another $2 straight Trifecta in the 7th race for $61. It was a Cat Manzi breakout night and I figured he would have a great night after slumping lately.
Here are my free racing picks for May 16, 2011 at Yonkers Raceway.
Race 1: (5) JOLTZEE should best these as she has raced against better company. SIR SYDNEY Z TAM should improve here with trainer/driver Lachance.
Trifecta: 5-1-8
Race 2: (1) ALLIANCE HALL has raced well in previous and looks to make it two in a row with Bartlett and the rail. DRILL SERGEANT SAM is the class in this one and will be the fan favorite.
Trifecta: 1-3-6
Race 3: (3) RAMBLIN BUNNY has run decent if you throw out its last start. This horse has the speed to get to the wire first. HONEYS DRAGON is my long shot here and could get compete here.
Trifecta: 3-8-1
Race 4: (1) KDK BELLAGIO has raced against better and with Brennan in the bike this chalk is hard to leave out. BUNKMEISTER should be considered here only because this horse has run good times.
Trifecta: 1-2-4
Race 5: (7) FROM THE START can compete here and will need to best (4) TIAMO to get into the winner’s circle.
Trifecta: 7-4-3
Race 6: (1) S F DECATHLON is my pick of the night and has won its last 3. This horse should jog to beat these. VERY UPSET RICHIE should go off at a nice price and one to consider in the Exacta or Trifecta.
Trifecta: 1-7-5
Race 7: (3) MANCHINE is a speedy lady and she could out least these. DVCFLYINGFRENCHMAN had a bad outing in its last and will be heavily played here with Brenna and Pena combo.
Trifecta: 3-2-1
Race 8: (4) JK CINDERELLA seems to be improving in its last 3 and could beat these tonight. BENEVOLENT has to be considered and has Manzi at the helm.
Trifecta: 4-3-5
Race 9: (4) WAYNE THE LEFTY will be the chalk and should be lights out against these horses. CHEYENNE OXE should be considered and will go off at a good price.
Trifecta: 4-6-3
Race 10: (7) DA VINCI missed for me last time out and looks like a rebound here. AHEAD OFTHE CURVE should be out early and could best these if choice has a bad trip.
Trifecta: 7-3-2
Race 11: (2) TIDEWATER TOMAHAWK has good times and Bartlett in the bike. This horse has run consistent and should continue to improve here. JUSTIN ART could challenge and should be considered here with Manzi aboard.
Trifecta: 2-3-5
